A pen collection from the Clearwater, FL-based Koozie Group (asi/40480) could be named the “Coolest Thing Made in Florida” by the state’s Chamber of Commerce.

The Counselor Top 40 supplier is a part of a statewide competition aimed at highlighting products manufactured in the Sunshine State.

“Koozie Group assembles 40 writing instruments in our Clearwater, FL, facility,” said Pierre Montaubin, CEO of Koozie Group and a member of Counselor’s Power 50 list of the most influential people in promo. “We’re proud of our dedicated team and their commitment to excellence, and this shines a spotlight on our expertise in the writing instrument category.”

Koozie Group entered digital widebody uni-color message pens (DCWBUMS), featuring six rotating facts about Florida and designs depicting sunshine, palm trees and the ocean.

Voting in the contest runs through July 1, where the more than 90 products in the running will be narrowed down to 32. Those products will move to a bracketed competition on July 15. Vote for a product here.

The “Coolest Thing in Florida” competition aligns with the Florida Chamber of Commerce’s goal to make Florida a Top 5 manufacturing state in the next five years. Florida currently ranks 10th for U.S. manufacturing jobs, which accounts for just over 4% of all jobs in the state, according to the Chamber of Commerce.

Koozie Group recently released its fifth annual social impact and sustainability report, detailing how it’s certified carbon-neutral on Scope 1 and Scope 2 greenhouse gas emissions and other sustainability progress it made in 2024.

In April, Mill Point Capital LLC, a New York City-based private equity firm, acquired Koozie Group with plans to combine the company with Garyline (asi/55990) – another Florida-based Counselor Top 40 supplier that Mill Point already owns.

Based on reported 2023 North American promo products revenue of $317 million, Koozie Group ranked seventh on Counselor’s most recent list of the largest suppliers in the industry. The new rankings are due out this summer.
