Charles River Apparel Promotes Jason Lipsett to President, Appoints New CRO

Lipsett represents the third generation of executive leadership at the family-owned supplier and recently led the search for Adam Heaslewood, the newest member of the company’s C-suite.

As Charles River Apparel (asi/44620) prepares for its next phase of growth, a third-generation family member is prepared to lead the charge.

Jason Lipsett, the grandson of company founder Walter and son of CEO Barry, has been promoted to the position of president, effective Sept. 12. He joined the Sharon, MA-based company 11 years ago; most recently, he was the vice president of strategic initiatives and oversaw marketing, strategy, company culture, digital transformation and talent retention.

“I feel a great responsibility stepping into this role, and I’m deeply mindful of what it means for our employees, customers and community,” Lipsett told ASI Media. “Over the years, I’ve gained exposure to different aspects of the business, which has provided me with valuable insights to drive change and lead the company into the future. I am committed to creating a work environment built on respect, teamwork and a growth mindset.”

CEO Barry Lipsett made the announcement to staff last month. “As president, Jason will focus on overseeing our leadership team, driving growth and guiding our company into the future,” he wrote in a memo to the company. “I will continue to serve as CEO, partnering with Jason to lead our company forward. This next chapter reflects our shared vision and commitment to maintaining the legacy of our family business while embracing modern strategies that drive growth.”

In a statement, Barry Lipsett added that Jason’s “leadership and dedication have been pivotal in driving our recent successes,” and that he has an “innate understanding of our business, our crew and our customers.”

As part of Lipsett’s first official responsibilities as president, he led the executive search for a CRO that resulted in the hiring of Adam Heaslewood, who assumes his new role on Sept. 12 as well and will report to Lipsett. Heaslewood has deep experience in sales and marketing, most recently in commercial sales at wellness technology company Therabody. He also spent more than 10 years with Adidas in the U.K. and U.S. markets, helping to develop multiple new product lines.

Lipsett cites Heaslewood’s “impressive track record” and shared values with the company as primary reasons for his appointment. “Adam is deeply team-focused and driven, and has a vision that I believe will be key in shaping the future of our company, creating opportunities for both our employees and our customers,” says Lipsett.

“What stood out for me is how humble but hungry they are,” Heaslewood said of Charles River. “They’re a third-generation family-owned company, and they’re a trusted, reliable partner. We want to see growth in brand awareness, innovation and sustainability. I’ll be working with the team on shaping a new chapter for the business, and I don’t take it lightly. They’re inviting me in as a nonfamily member, and they’re putting their trust in me. There are a lot of exciting opportunities, and they’re open to pushing themselves and pushing boundaries.”

Over the next few years, Lipsett will concentrate on amplifying the Charles River brand in promo. “I’m focused on expanding our presence in the industry and strengthening the strong relationships we have with our customers,” said Lipsett. “I also recognize the value and importance of Charles River Apparel continuing to grow as a nationally recognized lifestyle brand.”

Charles River Apparel recently celebrated 40 years in business. “I’ve never been more excited about the company’s future,” said Walter Lipsett. “Jason has proven his ability to create a great team and partner with Barry to lead Charles River Apparel into its next chapter. I’m confident they will guide the company toward an even brighter future, where our customers are at the heart of everything we do.”
