‘INKclusivity’ Makes Case for Disability Inclusion in Print & Promo
Co-written by Jed Seifert of Stakes Manufacturing, the book provides a road map for how businesses can recruit, train and empower these individuals.
Key Takeaways
• INKclusivity offers businesses a road map for recruiting, training, retaining and empowering people with developmental disabilities.
• The authors argue that inclusive hiring can create measurable business benefits by expanding the talent pool, improving retention and strengthening company culture.
A diverse and inclusive workforce can be a key component of building a strong and thriving business.
That’s the case made in a new book written by a group of print and promo industry veterans, who also lay out a detailed road map for how to recruit, train, retain and empower individuals with developmental disabilities.

INKclusivity, a book about the business benefits of disability inclusion, is now available for digital download.
INKclusivity, available as a free downloadable e-book or for purchase in print via Amazon, was written by Jed Seifert and Vince Bartozzi of Stakes Manufacturing (asi/88974) in Eastlake, OH; Patrick Bardsley and Tim Howe of Spectrum Designs (asi/559066) in Port Washington, NY; and Marshall Atkinson of Atkinson Consulting.
“INKclusivity is about changing lives and, in the process, changing how we do business,” said Seifert, who received the 2024 Counselor Bess Cohn Humanitarian of the Year award for his work creating a print-on-demand apparel firm with about 10% of its staff having a disability. “Inclusion is not just the right thing to do. It is the smart thing to do for your business.”
Spectrum Designs also has an inclusive mission: Bardsley and Howe lead the nonprofit custom apparel business, where most employees are neurodiverse and approximately 50 additional people participate in internships. The company gained national attention with a viral video featured on The Kelly Clarkson Show.
INKclusivity, though rooted in the print industry, includes strategies and tools that can be applied across any industry. Backed by data, decades of real-world experience and proven results, the book shows how an often-overlooked talent pool can become a competitive advantage and redefine what businesses think is possible.
Lessons in the book include how to launch and scale inclusive hiring programs for people with disabilities; access free support services to source, train and retain neurodiverse talent; empower teams to move from false assumptions to meaningful action; and experience the measurable ROI of building an inclusive organization.
