Promo Insiders: Exploring the Brain-Body Connection With Neurophysiologist Louisa Nicola
Louisa Nicola, a neurophysiologist who works with business executives and elite athletes to tap into the power of their brains, gives a sneak peek into her research and expertise ahead of her keynote presentation at the 2026 ASI Power Summit.
For many medical professionals, the path to success is relatively clear: Go to school, complete a residency or rotational program, then ultimately get a job at a hospital system or private practice.
But Louisa Nicola is not like most medical professionals. Trained as a neurophysiologist, Nicola now uses her medical background to help Fortune 500 CEOs, Wall Street portfolio managers and elite athletes understand their brains’ potential. She’s also the founder of personal health performance company NeuroAthletics, the mind behind a science-backed Alzheimer’s prevention program called Brain Code and the host of her own podcast, The Neuro Experience, where she talks to some of the greatest minds in brain science. She’ll be delivering the keynote at the ASI Power Summit, taking place on Oct. 25 to 27, 2026, at the Fairmont Grand Del Mar in San Diego, CA.
It wasn’t until Nicola did a rotation in neurosurgery that she truly fell in love with the human brain.
“That’s when I learned that the brain is actually the seat of human performance,” says Nicola. “I went on this huge endeavor and tried to really understand, what does it mean to perform at your peak from a neurological standpoint? But when we talk about the intersection of neuroscience and performance, it really is [about] how we really get the best of our cognitive functions. How can we get them to be performing at their peak so you can perform better, think faster and ultimately live longer?”
On this episode of Promo Insiders, Nicola sits down with Counselor to discuss how anyone can improve their brains, and gives a sneak peek into what she’ll be discussing at her ASI Power Summit keynote.
