Vantage Apparel Launches Line of Custom USA-Made Woven Throw Blankets

That’s the bet Vantage Apparel (asi/93390) is taking with its newest print-on-demand (POD) product line. Its newly launched custom woven throw blankets are made in the USA and available with single-piece ordering, according to the Counselor Top 40 supplier.

The woven blankets come in 50” x 60” and 60” x 80” sizes and are made from 100% cotton. Colors appear softer and more muted, Vantage says, because the imagery is created through weaving rather than printing.
“We wanted to create something that feels emotional and unforgettable,” said Rob Watson, CEO of Vantage Apparel and a member of the Counselor Power 50 list. “The new woven throw blankets bring photos and imagery to life in a way that’s never been offered in POD for our industry. When someone opens one of these blankets and sees art woven into fabric, it creates a completely different reaction than traditional gifting.”
The new woven blanket transforms customer artwork into a richly textured tapestry using an intricate Jacquard weaving technique. Unlike traditional printed blankets, the artwork is woven directly into the fabric with soft cotton yarns, creating dimension, durability and a high-end retail aesthetic, the supplier said.
The product can accommodate a wide range of image types, such as family photos, pet portraits, company branding, school mascots, landscape, custom artwork and more. Vantage says the product line is an ideal fit for gifting, recognition programs, alumni programs, lifestyle branding and e-commerce web stores.

The launch comes as promotional blankets grow increasingly popular. According to ASI Research’s latest Global Advertising Impressions Study, which features end-user findings from across the U.S., Canada, Mexico and much of Europe, 87% of consumers said they’d be more likely to do business with a brand if they received a blanket. The study also found that products in the blanket category produce 1,200 impressions throughout their lifetime (an average cost per impression of less than two cents). Further, 95% of consumers said they would use a promotional blanket once per month.
With 2024 North American promotional products revenue of $55 million, Vantage Apparel ranks 35th on Counselor’s most recent list of top suppliers in the industry. New rankings will be released in July.
