Wrangler Releases Some Killer Queen Merch

Bohemian Rhapsody, the Queen biopic, dominated the U.S. box office during its opening weekend, bringing in around $50 million domestically. It’s perhaps no surprise then that killer merch championing the iconic band would soon follow. To that end, Wrangler has teamed up with music lifestyle brand Lyric Culture to create its official Bohemian Rhapsody collection of T-shirts, jeans and jackets – decorated with song titles and lines from some of Queen’s more recognizable hits.

“Wrangler has a long history of celebrating music,” Jenni Broyles of Wrangler told Billboard. “Our brand has stood the test of time, and has been on the backs of music legends throughout the entirety of our 73-year history.”

In fact, Queen’s lead singer Freddie Mercury was wearing Wrangler jeans – along with a plain white tank top – during his 1985 performance at Live Aid in Wembley Stadium. (That performance with its immediately recognizable outfit both opens and closes the new biopic on Queen.)

Wrangler’s Bohemian Rhapsody collection, includes a jean jacket with the words “Don’t stop me now I’m having such a good time” emblazoned on the back, a sweatshirt that proclaims that “We are the Champions” and a unisex black tee that questions whether this is the real life or if it’s just fantasy. Prices range from $39 to $159.

The new clothing line will be available online here. Broyles told Billboard that direct-to-consumer sales have been a big growth area for Wrangler, which is why the brand decided to sell the Bohemian Rhapsody collection exclusively on the Wrangler website. “We really loved this collection, and just thought it was cool, so thought we’d keep it to ourselves,” she added.
