Two Philadelphia Eagles Top NFLPA’s Player Merch Sales Rankings

The Birds’ quarterback Jalen Hurts and retired center Jason Kelce had the hottest-selling individual licensed swag among NFL players in the 2023-24 season, according to a new analysis.

A pair of Eagles are perched atop the pinnacle of the National Football League’s branded merchandise pyramid.

Data just released from the National Football League Players Association (NFLPA) shows that Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Jalen Hurts and now-retired Eagles center Jason Kelce placed first and second, respectively, on the list of individual players with the highest merchandise sales for the 2023/24 season.

Jalen Hurts

Patrick Mahomes II, the Kansas City Chiefs QB, may have won the Super Bowl last season, but that wasn’t enough to push him higher than third in swag sales, behind Hurts and Kelce. He’ll probably console himself with his third Super Bowl ring and the fact that this is his sixth consecutive year among the top five merch sellers.

Another Kelce was also in the top five: Travis, Jason’s brother and the Kansas City Chiefs’ tight end (otherwise known as Mr. Taylor Swift), finished fourth.

Rounding out the top 10 were: San Francisco 49ers running back Christian McCaffery; New York Jets QB Aaron Rodgers, who placed despite only playing three or so snaps all year; Cincinnati Bengals QB Joe Burrow; San Francisco 49ers QB Brock Purdy; Dallas Cowboys linebacker Micah Parsons; and Minnesota Vikings wide receiver Justin Jefferson.

The NFLPA full list ranks the top 50 players in terms of individual merchandise sales. As with the top 10, the rankings were dominated by quarterbacks: The 20 quarterbacks made up 40% of the 2023-24 Top 50 list. They were followed by 16 receivers (32%), four defensive linemen (8%), three running backs (6%), three linebackers (6%), two tight ends (4%), one defensive back (2%) and one offensive lineman (2%).

That one offensive lineman? The Eagles’ Kelce. For the second consecutive year, he set a record for highest ranking for an offensive lineman. And if that isn’t enough to get you chanting “E-A-G-L-E-S … EAGLES!”, another remarkable fact is that Kelce’s number two finish in the rankings is the highest ever for a non-quarterback on a year-end list. Rankings began in 2014.

Jalen Hurts jersey

Jalen Hurts’ jersey was among the most popular-selling jerseys.

The list ranks the top retail performers in the league based on sales of officially licensed NFL player products from March 1, 2023, through Feb. 29, 2024.

Sales are generated from products that include adult and youth game jerseys, T-shirts, hoodies, bobbleheads, plush toys, socks, face coverings, headbands, figurines, wall decals, credit cards, backpacks, Fatheads, drinkware, pet products and other items.

Some notable notes:

  • The most popular jerseys based on cumulative sales from Fanatics, Outerstuff and Dallas Cowboys Merchandising were Jalen Hurts, Jason Kelce, Patrick Mahomes, Christian McCaffrey and Micah Parsons.
  • The hottest-selling socks from licensees FBF, Rock ’Em and Strideline spotlighted Patrick Mahomes, Josh Allen, Dawson Knox, Justin Jefferson and Dak Prescott.
  • Fatheads’ most popular wall decals and cutouts featured Patrick Mahomes, Justin Jefferson, Tyreek Hill, Jalen Hurts and Joe Burrow.
  • Patrick Mahomes, Joe Burrow, Josh Allen, Lamar Jackson and George Kittle led sales of Funko Pop vinyl collectibles at year’s end.
