Mark and Mitch Freed, the father-son duo behind Canada’s largest distributor, rise six spots on the list due to a slew of developments at the company this past year. Most prominently, by the end of 2022, Genumark reported that year-over-year sales had increased 27% to more than $60 million Canadian, due to a variety of factors like new clients, increased spend by existing clients and the end of pandemic lockdowns in Canada (some of the longest in the world). This year, the Top 40 distributor earned the coveted B Corp certification and was added to the RE/MAX approved supplier program. The younger Freed continues to establish himself since assuming the CEO role in the beginning of 2022, and Genumark is eyeing a bigger move into the U.S. with the recent hiring of Johanna Gottlieb, formerly with Top 40 distributor HALO Branded Soliutions (asi/356000), as vice president of business development.
