Walter Miska makes his debut on the Counselor Power 50 list after being named president of Counselor Top 40 distributor Fully Promoted (asi/384000) this past spring. He’s no outsider, however; Miska is a former Fully Promoted franchisee and regional vice president at parent company United Franchise Group who returned to the company after four years of pursuing his own franchise venture. Former Fully Promoted President Andrew Titus remains on the Counselor Power 50 list after being elevated to president of UFG. (Titus is the son of founder Ray Titus, a former Power 50 member who remains the CEO of UFG.)
“The transition has been energizing, and in many ways, it feels like coming full circle,” says Miska, who opened his Fully Promoted franchise in 2005. “As a franchise owner, I learned firsthand what it takes to win customers, deliver on their orders and build a business. That experience gives me a strong connection to the brand, even though the president’s role is new to me.”
Notably, Titus and Miska say the company’s system-wide sales are on a trajectory to increase by more than 10% by the end of the year, thanks to the hard work of Fully Promoted franchisees around the world. Miska says the company is also expanding business-building resources for its franchise owners.
“We’ve made significant investments in strengthening the brand through storytelling, positioning and marketing support,” he says. “By acting more like an internal agency for franchisees, we’ve helped elevate local marketing efforts while driving more consistent messaging at the national level.”
Now, Miska and Titus’ goals are threefold: to welcome more franchise owners in both the U.S. and international markets such as Australia and India, support both new and established owners with data and technology, and continue to ask owners for their input. “I want franchisees to have a real voice in our priorities,” says Miska. “We have significant opportunities to expand, but the growth I’ll be proudest of is growth that creates more successful owners and a stronger brand for everyone.”
AI Perspective
Miska: “I use AI as a thought partner in my own work: to organize ideas, challenge my assumptions and get a first draft on the page. Its business potential is exciting, especially where it can help a franchisee prepare for a sales conversation, create marketing content or spend less time on routine work. In 2027, I expect the most useful applications to be practical ones that save owners time and help them serve customers better. We’ll need to test those uses carefully and make sure they fit how our stores actually operate.”
