ASB Raises $3,000 for Local Charitable Causes

The Top 40 distributor held an online raffle.

Top 40 distributor American Solutions for Business (ASB, asi/120075) recently raised $3,000 during its annual Triple Crown online raffle. Departments at ASB assembled gift baskets for the initiative, which were then raffled off virtually. Funds will benefit three charity organizations in Pope County, MN, where the company is based.

ASB gave $1,000 to each nonprofit: Someplace Safe in Alexandria, MN, which offers safe housing and meeting places for families afflicted by abuse; the Radiothon to End Child Abuse fundraiser, which benefits the county’s Human Services Department; and Pope County Families in Need, which supplies clothes, blankets, beds and gift certificates for essentials like gas or food to people facing financial hardship. ASB has donated funds to the three causes for the past 10 years.

“Being community-oriented, ASB employees are always ready and eager to help where help is needed,” said SOS Specialist Stephanie Hall, in a statement. “We hold many fundraisers throughout the year and all money raised stays local. The Triple Crown recipients are three organizations that thrive on donations and when they succeed, our community succeeds.”

Before COVID, ASB employees donated and raffled off baskets in person. With virus uncertainty continuing, ASB decided to use ACES, its proprietary e-commerce platform, to hold the raffle virtually.

“We are thankful to [ASB] for this donation,” said Hayley Dorman, assistant manager at Someplace Safe. “This is going to help us with our voucher program, where individuals in need of starting over receive a voucher from our advocacy office to get the things they need from the store. As a nonprofit, all proceeds go back into the community to help with those dealing with domestic and sexual violence.”

Earlier this month, ASB raised $12,000 for the local Adopt-A-Family fundraiser. Employees shopped with the funds to buy toys, household items, hygiene products, clothing and Visa gift cards for local families in need.
