ASI’s 2026 Ad Impressions Study: British Columbia, Canada

Exclusive research from ASI explores the powerful impact and influence of promotional products.

ASI’s 2026 Ad Impressions Study provided one of our most comprehensive looks at the value, effectiveness and impact of promotional products, particularly when it comes to how branded products influence buying decisions with a low cost-per-impression. Now, we’re spotlighting stats around individual product categories, research questions and specific international markets worth taking a second look at.

British Columbia, the westernmost province in Canada, is widely known for its abundance of nature, from the Canadian Rockies to national parks and the beautiful Pacific coastline.

With this renown, as well as cool winter temperatures, the preferences of consumers in the province toward branded fleece and jackets makes sense – outerwear was the top answer for promotional products consumers in British Columbia would be excited to receive. In addition to popular answers like food gifts, mobile power banks and T-shirts, the product that rounded out the top five for BC was housewares, the only province to feature this answer as a popular choice.

Additionally, 95% of consumers in British Columbia reported that they would have a more favourable impression of an advertiser after receiving a promotional item that’s Made in Canada, compared to a standard item – more than any other province surveyed. That’s a noteworthy stat for the Canadian promotional products market, particularly as Made-in-Canada products have spiked in popularity.
