The plant in Huntersville will house SEG Systems and Fabric Images, subsidiaries of the Illinois-headquartered supplier.

Orbus Visual Communications (asi/75209), a Counselor 2024 Best Places to Work in promo company, is opening a new 225,000-square-foot facility for subsidiaries SEG Systems and Fabric Images.

The ribbon cutting on the manufacturing center in Huntersville, NC is scheduled for April 17.

Orbus facility

The new Orbus (asi/75209) facility in Huntersville, NC, will house Orbus brands SEG Systems and Fabric Images.

Executives for Orbus, which specializes in visual displays for settings like tradeshows, events, retail and workplaces, said the facility will create 100 new jobs, in addition to 86 positions being moved to the location from a previous plant in Charlotte.

The relocation and expansion represent a $25 million investment, and the new space is 50% larger than the previous one, the company said. It will have production capabilities that include printing, metal fabrication, fabric architecture manufacturing, wood working, acoustical felt production, powder coating and lighting.

“I am proud of Orbus Visual Communications and our success, marked by this relocation and expansion to a new cutting-edge facility,” said Orbus CEO Gary Keefer. “This relocation and expansion propels us forward and reinforces our commitment to excellence in the retail and interiors markets.”

Orbus acquired SEG Systems in 2022 and Fabric Images in 2020.

SEG Systems makes and sells lightboxes, merchandising display systems and other solutions for retailers and brands. Fabric Images manufacturers printed and non-printed tension fabric architecture, acoustical products and custom design solutions for workplace interiors, hospitality, retail spaces, museums and events.

Orbus ranked 46th on Counselor’s most recent list of the Best Places to Work in the promotional products industry. Employees said the words that best describe the firm are “creative,” “collaborative” and “inclusive.”
