The Image Group Tops $50M, Launches New Brand Identity

The Ohio-headquartered promo distributor, which grew revenue by 44.6% in 2020, has also debuted a new website.

The Image Group (asi/230069) is on a success run.

The Holland, OH-based promotional products distributor told ASI Media that it overcame the challenges of the COVID-19 pandemic and increased annual revenue by 44.6% year over year to $50.35 million in 2020.

And now, on Thursday, Feb. 18, The Image Group announced that it has launched a new brand identity and website that aim to position the fast-growing company as a premier middle-market provider of promotional products, apparel and incentive rewards.

“Our new brand identity and website reflect our transformation over the past several years,” said CEO Jon Levine. “We have welcomed a new executive team with public-company experience, made strategic acquisitions, and expanded our service offerings. These investments drove 130% revenue growth since 2017.”

Levine continued: “Now more than ever, our clients are looking for a strategic partner who can help them connect with the audiences that matter most through easy-to-manage systems. We call it Brand Magic.”

With that “magic” theme in mind for its new brand identity, The Image Group created a fresh logo inspired by the image of a magic wand. Meanwhile, the website features case studies from several of The Image Group’s largest clients, including the University of Michigan, Virginia Tourism Corporation, and Life Care Services.

“Like the rebranding projects we frequently work on for our partners, this initiative is meant to spur growth,” said Zack Ottenstein, company president. “We are also launching several new services like a rewards and recognition platform and wide-format print management. These capabilities make us an even more valuable partner in our core markets: senior living and healthcare, building products, automotive and higher-education.”

As part of the company’s evolution, The Image Group noted that it has retired the Target Marketing brand. Target was a Richmond, VA-based distributorship that The Image Group acquired in 2017. Initially, the Target branding was maintained, but going forward, that division will now go to market under The Image Group brand umbrella.

The Image Group’s rise to more than $50 million in revenue in 2020 came in a year in which promo distributors sales declined, on average, by 19.8%. Speaking to ASI Media, Ottenstein explained The Image Group’s success was due, in significant part, to a few key factors. “Our revenue growth was driven by PPE sales and a strong healthcare vertical,” he said.

Founded in 1981, The Image Group is headquartered in Holland, OH, and serves clients through offices in Ann Arbor, MI, Cleveland, OH, and Richmond, VA.
