Atlantis Headwear Parent Company Joins Ellen MacArthur Foundation Community

The partnership will help the supplier promote the circular economy – minimizing waste and regenerating natural systems by ensuring products are reused, refurbished, recycled or composted.

Master Italia SpA, parent company of supplier Atlantis Headwear (asi/37380), is taking another step toward the goal of creating a circular economy.

The Italian company, which transitioned into a Benefit Corporation earlier this year, announced that it’s now a part of the Ellen MacArthur Foundation community.

Established in 2010, the foundation is a nonprofit dedicated to advocating and fostering the concept of a circular economy. In contrast to a linear economy – where products are made, used and discarded – a circular economy aims to minimize waste and regenerate natural systems by ensuring that products and materials are reused, refurbished, recycled or composted.

“We are thrilled to join the Ellen MacArthur Foundation community,” said Federico Pasini, vice president of Atlantis Headwear. “This collaboration represents a further step on our journey toward a more responsible future. We are excited to contribute to the collective efforts aimed at creating a more sustainable, circular economy.”

Through its circular economy community, the Ellen MacArthur Foundation connects businesses, policymakers, financial institutions and other stakeholders committed to transitioning to more sustainable practices. The foundation provides learning opportunities, facilitates knowledge exchange and encourages participation in like-minded initiatives.

Master Italia, which offers sustainable caps and beanies made of recycled materials in North America through its Atlantis Headwear line, has crafted a comprehensive action plan for its Italian headquarters to help guide it becoming “fully sustainable” by 2025. Collaborating with the Ellen MacArthur Foundation will help achieve the objectives, according to the company.

Atlantis Headwear and its parent company have taken multiple steps to increase the sustainability of their operations and offerings, including sponsoring a biodiversity oasis to preserve pollinators, preserving a forest near Master Italia’s headquarters, and performing lifecycle assessments for several of its products.
