The Bright Side: Charles River Apparel Official Sponsor of 2025 Pan-Mass Challenge
The supplier will support operational and fundraising initiatives for the August bike-a-thon and another event in the fall.
Key Takeaways
• Sponsorship Commitment: Charles River Apparel (asi/44620) will sponsor the 2025 Pan-Mass Challenge (PMC) and PMC Unpaved, supporting cancer research through the athletic fundraising event.
• Fundraising Impact: The PMC has raised over $1 billion for cancer research since 1980, with 100% of rider-raised funds going directly to the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute.
Charles River Apparel (asi/44620), a third-generation family-owned supplier, has become an official sponsor of the 2025 Pan-Mass Challenge (PMC), an annual bike-a-thon held the first week of August that raises money for cancer research and patient care. The company will also be a sponsor of PMC Unpaved, another biking event in the fall.
Charles River Apparel (asi/44620) is an official sponsor of this year’s Pan-Mass Challenge.
“We are incredibly honored to support the Pan-Mass Challenge and the powerful mission it represents,” said Barry Lipsett, CEO of the Sharon, MA-based company. “Cancer has touched so many lives, including my own family. Partnering with the PMC is deeply personal for me, and it’s a meaningful way for all of us at Charles River Apparel to help advance the fight against this disease.”
Lipsett himself has participated as a PMC rider for two decades, and over that time has raised more than $136,000 for the PMC, according to Charles River Apparel. As an official sponsor, Charles River Apparel will help support operational and fundraising initiatives for both PMC weekend and PMC Unpaved.
So far this year, PMC has raised more than $17 million, with a goal to hit $76 million by the end of the year. The main event spans up to 186 miles across Massachusetts, and 100% of every rider-raised dollar goes directly toward cancer research and patient care. Last year, 6,800 riders took part in the 45th PMC.
“The PMC is proud to welcome Charles River Apparel as an official sponsor in 2025,” said Billy Starr, founder and chairman of the PMC. “Their dedication to community and philanthropy aligns perfectly with our mission, and we’re grateful for their support as we get closer by the mile to cancer cures and treatments.”
The PMC, which was founded in 1980, raises the most for charity of any single athletic fundraising event in the country. Since its founding, the challenge has raised more than $1 billion for the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute, with money going toward both cancer research and patient care.
Founded in 1983, Charles River Apparel has a robust charitable giving program, Charles River Cares, which was started in 2010. The supplier’s five-year commitment is to provide $1 million in support to its charity partners and 100,000 apparel items to those in need.
