Counselor Top 40 distributor Taylor Promotional Products (TPP, asi/333647) has a new leader.
Rick Roddis is now business unit president of the Minnesota-headquartered company, making him that division’s top executive. Taylor Promo is one of about 80 subsidiaries of Taylor Corporation, a privately owned global company that specializes in print and promo solutions.
“I am deeply honored to join Taylor Promotional Products and look forward to collaborating with this talented team,” Roddis said. “Together, we will build on the strong foundation in place and pursue new opportunities for growth and innovation.”
Roddis was most recently business unit president of Navitor (asi/81500), a supplier and Taylor subsidiary that offers marketing materials and printing solutions like folders, signs/banners, labels, checks/forms and other products. He held that role for about six years.
Roddis first joined Taylor Corporation in 2006 through its acquisition of Cosco Industries and subsequently held important roles at ComplyRight Distribution Services and the TOG-Navitor Stationary Business unit, according to executives.
“Rick is a dynamic and visionary leader whose experience and strategic outlook align perfectly with our goals.” Susan Drenning, Taylor Group President
Taylor Corp. noted that Roddis has served in leadership positions across sales, information technology, marketing and operations in the custom print sector for over three decades.
The parent firm believes Roddis’ expertise in the fast-growing personalized printing and print-on-demand spaces will be especially pivotal to helping TPP deliver low-quantity and on-demand solutions – what the firm believes will be a key differentiator and deep business focus for it going forward.
“Rick is a dynamic and visionary leader whose experience and strategic outlook align perfectly with our goals,” said Taylor Group President Susan Drenning. “We are excited to see the positive changes and growth his leadership will bring.”
Roddis is replacing Mike Giachetti as TPP business unit president. Giachetti had announced his decision to retire last year and is transitioning into what Taylor Corp. described as “semi-retirement” – a role in which he’ll still provide consultation in what the company called key growth areas.
“Giachetti’s contributions over the years have been instrumental in shaping TPP’s success, and his ongoing involvement will help ensure a seamless transition,” Taylor Corp. said in a statement.
Based on reported 2023 North American promotional product revenue of $290 million, Taylor Promotional Products ranked 12th on Counselor’s most recent list of the largest distributors in the industry.
Parent firm Taylor Corporation owns various other print and promo companies, including Counselor Top 40 supplier ADG Promotional Products (asi/97270).
