Chris Anderson drops one spot on this year’s Counselor Power 50 list after sales for Counselor Top 40 supplier HPG (asi/61966) remained essentially flat from 2024 to 2025. Still, the CEO oversaw impressive achievements in the past 12 months, including the completion of a 135,000-square-foot location in Sunnyvale, TX, where it’s integrated its BEST, Handstands and Origaudio brands. The supplier also opened a “Creative Center” in Walnut Creek, CA, to accommodate its in-house marketing agency.

Anderson has also piloted HPG to significant sustainability gains. The company has committed to converting its bestselling Javalina pen line to recycled plastic by 2028 (more than 60 million pens annually) and achieved EcoVadis Platinum certification for the second consecutive year, according to an ESG report released in the spring. And for the first time, the Braintree, MA-based company was named a Counselor Best Place to Work, with employees citing flexible work arrangements, alignment with company goals and overall job satisfaction as key strengths.

Moving forward, Anderson and the HPG leadership team are focused on improving efficiency and shortening lead times through investments in equipment and technology, while also evaluating acquisition opportunities.
