Jose Gomez makes his third consecutive appearance on the Counselor Power 50 list. Having started as the VP of sourcing and operations for Counselor Top 40 supplier Edwards Garment (asi/51752) before working his way up to the title of president/CEO, Gomez has the supply chain know-how that has positioned him as a trusted industry voice on global trade uncertainty and geopolitical impact. This past year, he’s openly discussed everything from the pricing changes his company implemented in response to President Trump’s tariffs to the supplier’s long-term sourcing strategy to work through the levies.

Today, Gomez says one of his biggest challenges is sifting through “all the noise” to figure out where the market is headed. He’s also celebrating key successes and milestones, from new products to service improvements such as faster order execution and customer integration. “We’re growing and supporting more national apparel programs,” Gomez says. “That creates a great, virtuous circle that motivates all of us at Edwards to continue working hard for our customers.”

But promo isn’t just about products and services; it’s about people. Going into 2027, Gomez says he’s laser-focused on building relationships, both on his team and with the distributors he serves.
