Ben Grossman moves up another spot on this year’s Counselor Power 50 list, thanks to increasing influence in the industry, particularly in the arena of sustainability. The co-president of Grossman Marketing Group (asi/215205) has shepherded the impressive growth of SwagCycle, the landfill diversion platform he founded to help solve the challenge of obsolete and unwanted logoed merchandise. Through September 2026, SwagCycle has processed more than 3.6 million items and facilitated nearly $16 million worth of charitable donations since its launch in 2019. Grossman Marketing Group also recently earned an EcoVadis Gold medal, placing it in the top 5% of companies assessed globally.
On the business side, Grossman Marketing Group has been growing through acquisition and organic expansion. The Woburn, MA-based distributor acquired Larick Associates earlier this year and Cooley Group in 2025. Core business growth this year included winning merchandise programs for a major research university, a prominent health system, a publicly traded tech firm and other clients. The company, which was named a Counselor Best Place to Work this year, also rolled out Grossman On-Demand programs across the business, with clients asking for broad product selection without upfront inventory investment.
Moving forward, Grossman says, the company hopes to continue its growth trajectory, while maintaining a healthy balance sheet with low debt. “As a fourth-generation family business, we have an obligation to build something that lasts well beyond our own tenure,” he adds.
AI Perspective
“AI has become a valuable research and thinking partner for me. I use it to explore business questions, analyze data, develop ideas and refine communications. Personally, I’ve used it for everything from planning family travel to explaining a math concept to one of my kids and troubleshooting problems around the house.
“Looking ahead, we plan to expand our use of agents as we learn where they add the most value. In a business built on relationships, the biggest payoff is giving our people more time to listen to clients, solve problems creatively and follow through on their commitments.”
