Fauci Bobblehead Generates $100K for COVID Fight

The National Bobblehead Hall of Fame and Museum says the bobblehead has become its best-selling ever.

What good can a bobblehead do?

Quite a bit apparently.

The National Bobblehead Hall of Fame and Museum (NBHFM) announced early Wednesday, April 8 that its Dr. Anthony Fauci bobblehead, launched less than a week ago, has become its best-selling bobblehead of all time.

The NBHFM is donating $5 from every sale of the $25 product depicting the United States’ foremost physician to the American Hospital Association in support of the 100 Million Mask Challenge, a grassroots effort to increase the United States’ supply of medical masks. The challenge is part of the Protect the Heroes Campaign

So far, Fauci bobblehead sales have generated $100,000 to be donated to the cause.

“We will continue these efforts to raise funds to defeat COVID-19 and keep the nation’s first responders safe while making people smile during these unprecedented and difficult times,” says NBHFM co-founder and CEO Phil Sklar, noting there’ll be a check presentation to the AHA on April 8. “I also hope we will inspire other businesses and individuals to help others during this pandemic with their unique talents and capabilities.”

During the coronavirus pandemic, Dr. Fauci has emerged as a reassuring voice of guidance and reason for many Americans. Director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases since 1984, Fauci is leading the Trump administration’s efforts to monitor, contain and mitigate the spread of the virus.

Fauci’s popularity has become such that a bevy of merchandise branded with his name and/or likeness has hit the market – with items ranging from T-shirts, stickers, posters and hooded sweatshirts to mugs, tumblers, blankets, phone cases, prayer candles, tapestries and more.

For those wondering: The NBHFM’s previous best-selling bobblehead was a depiction of Sister Jean. The bobble went viral during the 2018 NCAA college basketball tournament.
