CPSC Recalls Toy Vehicles Due to Choking Hazard

The U.S. Consumer Products Safety Commission (CPSC) has recalled nearly 500,000 wooden toy vehicles sold by Target, headquartered in Minneapolis. The wheels on the Bullseye’s Playground toys can detach, posing a choking risk. While there have been four reports of wheels detaching, including one instance of a missing wheel when the box was opened, no injuries have yet been reported.

The recalled wooden toy vehicles came in eight different styles, including this gift-filled caboose.

The toys, made in China and supplied by Warren, NJ-based Horizon Group USA Inc., were sold in eight different styles, including a Santa in a sleigh, train, police car and caboose. They were also sold in an assortment pack of eight vehicles. The complete list of recalled item numbers, model numbers and UPC numbers, which can all be found on a white sticker on the bottom of each toy, is here.

A total of approximately 495,000 toys were sold at Target locations and at target.com from October 2018 through November 2018 for about $1 for each individual vehicle and about $8 for the eight-piece pack. None of the companies named in the recall are listed with ASI.

Consumers are asked to immediately take the recalled toys away from children and return them to any Target location for a refund. Target can be contacted at (800) 440-0680 from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. CT daily. For more information, head to Target’s recall page here or to the “Product Recalls” tab on Target’s Facebook page here.
