In April, we invited the three Fashion Faceoff judges to view the athleisure mini-collections created by contestants at Moore College of Art & Design. Over the next few days, we’ll be sharing some of their reactions to the students’ work, though we won’t be revealing the winners of our contest until the August issue of the magazine. First, however, allow us to introduce you to our judging panel.

Conrad Booker: A Philadelphia-based designer with a background in architecture, Booker debuted his first handbag collection in 2012. Elizabeth Wellington, fashion critic of the Philadelphia Inquirer, called one of the bags from his “Hardware” collection “the next it bag.” Last year, he was accepted as a designer in residence in the Philadelphia Fashion Incubator with Macy’s Center City as a women’s accessories designer. Booker dubs his fashion aesthetic “accessible-luxe,” sculpting ready-made objects – like door hinges found on the shelves of Home Depot – into wearable works of art.

Pamela Ptak: Fashion designer and contestant on season 7 of “Project Runway,” Ptak founded the Arts and Fashion Institute in Riegelsville, PA, with her husband Scott Hanna. Ptak teaches advanced classes in draping and pattern making, fashion illustration, haute couture sewing techniques and more. She also creates garments for celebrity clientele, and her collections have been featured in shows and exhibits around the world.

Savannah DeVore: A graduate of Moore College of Art & Design, DeVore currently works as a designer at PVH, an $8 billion apparel company that owns iconic brands such as Calvin Klein, Tommy Hilfiger, Van Heusen, IZOD and Speedo. DeVore also has experience designing for brands Public School NYC and Sean John.
