Decorating Roundup: Ninja Transfers Installs Solar Panels, Launches Spangles
Also, Inkcups shares a case study of how its direct-to-object printers have helped a small business grow, and Nazdar SourceOne opens a distribution center in Grapevine, TX.
Key Takeaways
• Ninja Transfers (asi/73060) installed a solar array to fully power its 63,000-square-foot facility and introduced spangles and custom silicone patches as new decoration options.
• Bevanda, a Pennsylvania-based drinkware company, credited Inkcups’ Helix direct-to-object printer with transforming its business by enabling in-house customization and long-term growth.

Ninja Transfers (asi/73060), a provider of direct-to-film transfer solutions, is going solar.
The Philadelphia-headquartered company recently completed installation of a solar array that will fully power its 63,000-square-foot facility. The solar panels, which are now active, were installed over the main parking lot, serving as a shaded canopy for employees and customers, while generating clean, renewable energy for the operation.

“We’ve always focused on moving fast, scaling smart and leading with innovation,” said Victor Ilisco, director of business development at Ninja Transfers. “Now we’re applying those same principles to how we power our business. Going solar isn’t just good for the planet – it’s good for our people, our customers and our future.”
The solar installation has already begun to offset a significant portion of the company’s energy consumption, reducing operational costs and lowering its carbon footprint, according to Ninja Transfers.
In other news, Ninja Transfers has also added spangles to its lineup of decoration techniques. Made of reflective flat disks heat applied to garments, spangles are distinguished from rhinestones, having no sharp edges as well as being lighter, smoother and more durable. The technique is ideal for everything from youth apparel and cheer uniforms to fashion-forward streetwear, according to Ninja.
The company notes that spangles are applied using a highly modified embroidery platform that can precisely place individual sequins in custom designs with speed and consistency, resulting in a high-end look with mass production efficiency.
Ninja Transfers has added spangles to its decoration technique lineup.
“Spangles are bold, fun and undeniably eye-catching – exactly the kind of customization our customers are asking for,” Ilisco said. “We’re thrilled to make this innovation more accessible and offer something that sets our community apart.”
In addition, Ninja Patches, a division of Ninja Transfers, has unveiled custom silicone patches with both 3D-molded and 2D-printed options. Made from flexible polymers that resist cracking, fading and peeling, the patches work well for outdoor gear, sportswear, corporate branding and fashion. Each order includes a roll of thermal tape for precise application.
Inkcups Helix Printer Powers Rugged Drinkware Brand’s Growth
Bevanda invested in an Inkcups Helix direct-to-object printer to add product customization to its offerings.
When Bevanda was looking for a solution to help customize the rugged drinkware and lunch boxes it produces, the Lancaster County, PA-based business discovered Inkcups, a supplier of digital inkjet, pad printers and other equipment.
The company launched in 2017 as a product line within a family-owned business. At the time, the business was generating less than $100,000 in annual revenue and had just introduced a small lineup of drinkware products. The team quickly saw demand for custom branding, with potential clients requesting their logo printed on the water bottles before placing orders.
Initially, Bevanda struggled with fulfilling customization orders overseas, citing problems with minimum order quantities, inconsistent quality and long lead times. Eventually, the company stumbled upon Inkcups’ Helix direct-to-object cylinder printer, which Bevanda founder Leon Fischer said was “going to solve all our problems.” Despite an investment that required signing a promissory note for more than its annual revenue, Bevanda was committed to bringing its drinkware customization in-house.
Eight years later, the printer that once seemed like a risk has become one of Bevanda’s most important assets, the company says. Jonathan Fisher, owner and CEO of Bevanda, describes it as “the lifeline of our business,” adding that the Helix has paid for itself. “Print by print, we chipped away. It’s officially paid off. No more notes. Just momentum,” he adds.
