Also, Roland DG wrapped a digital grand piano with custom artwork, and ColDesi introduced an advanced ink management system.

Key Takeaways

• Stahls’ (asi/88984) launched Liquid 3D, a patent-pending embellishment available through its Fulfill Engine platform that creates durable dimensional emblems for headwear and bags.

• Roland DG collaborated with Roland Corp. to wrap a digital grand piano, using the company’s TrueVIS XG-640 printer.

• ColDesi (asi/18325) introduced its Advanced Ink Management System, featuring a closed smart cartridge platform that improves white ink circulation, reduces waste and extends printhead life.

Stahls’ (asi/88984), the St. Clair Shores, MI-based supplier of heat printing technology and heat transfers, has launched Liquid 3D, a patent-pending embellishment technology that the company says redefines what’s possible in custom logo application. The technology is currently available exclusively through its on-demand Fulfill Engine branding platform.

Stahls’ (asi/88984) has launched Liquid 3D, a dimensional emblem available through its on-demand Fulfill Engine branding platform.

“This is the most disruptive product to hit the headwear market in years,” said Josh Ellsworth, chief revenue officer at Stahls’. “Liquid 3D gives premium brands a scalable, high-end way to bring texture, depth and distinction to every piece – whether it’s one or 1,000. It opens more doors for custom headwear and lifestyle branding than anything we’ve seen in recent history.”

Liquid 3D is not the typical raised ink or molded rubber used to create a dimensional effect. Instead, Stahls’ says it uses a proprietary combination of high-definition printing and adhesive integration to create a textile-based emblem that’s bold, detailed and built to last. Designed for headwear and bags, Liquid 3D emblems are made in the USA with on-demand production and no minimums. They feature quick turnaround for a premium product, shipping in five business days, according to Stahls’.

Stahls’ is hosting a launch webinar featuring in-depth demos of Liquid 3D in action on Wednesday, Sept. 10, at 2 p.m. ET.

Roland DG Creates Wrapped Piano Artwork

Roland DG wrapped this digital grand piano with artwork created by Michiru Kanki.

Roland DG Corp., a maker of wide-format inkjet printers and printer/cutters, collaborated with Roland Corp., a manufacturer of electronic musical instruments, to create a one-of-a-kind digital grand piano wrapped in artwork by Paralym Art artist Michiru Kanki.

Her artwork was reproduced using Roland DG’s TrueVIS XG-640 wide-format inkjet printer to wrap the Roland digital grand piano.

“We aimed to express not only the brilliant colors of the artwork, but also the passion and story embedded within it,” said Kohei Tanabe, CEO, president and representative director of Roland DG. “Through this collaboration, we hope to convey to people the wonder of transforming imagination into reality.”

ColDesi Offers Advanced Ink Management System

Tampa, FL-based ColDesi (asi/18325) now offers the ColDesi Advanced Ink Management System (CAIMS), which it says is a comprehensive solution for digital ink management. It features a smart cartridge system – a closed, fiber optic-monitored platform that eliminates the need for disposable cartridges. It delivers real-time ink level tracking, prevents air and particle contamination and reduces ink waste.

CAIMS is specially engineered for uninterrupted white ink operation, featuring white ink bags that support efficient ink circulation. With continuous pressure monitoring and adjustments via the white ink circulation pump, the system ensures consistent and reliable delivery of white ink to the printheads. These enhancements reduce clogging, extend printhead life and improve print quality.

ColDesi’s 30H2 DTF printer is the first to feature the CAIMS system, but the company said it plans to integrate it into future equipment as well.
