Gemline Highlights Carbon Accountability, Supply Chain Traceability in 2025 CSR Report

It’s Earth Day, and Counselor Top 40 supplier Gemline (asi/56070) is celebrating with the release of its 2025 Corporate Social Responsibility report.
The Lawrence, MA-based supplier defines and measures sustainability progress against its “betterway” accountability standards across three pillars: People, Planet and Product.

“Our commitment to corporate social responsibility continues to evolve as we raise expectations for ourselves and our industry,” said Frank Carpenito, president and CEO of Gemline and a member of Counselor’s Power 50 list of most influential people in promo. “Through our betterway framework, we are expanding our portfolio of products that meet defined betterway accountability standards, increasing transparency and equipping our distributor partners with the tools they need to help their clients achieve their sustainability and responsibility goals.”
According to the report, 71% of new products Gemline introduced in 2025 incorporated preferred materials with lower environmental impact. The company also achieved a 99% PVC-free product line and 100% PFAS-free product line.
Gemline also touted expanded product-level carbon footprint tracking for its owned brands, increasing Scope 3 emissions coverage across tracked SKUs by 27% and enabling more complete visibility across the product life cycle.
The supplier didn’t just focus on improving its products; its report also emphasized operational sustainability at its Massachusetts headquarters. Approximately 47% of electricity in 2025 was solar-generated. The supplier also reduced waste sent to energy recovery by 20%.
Finally, Gemline made a significant community impact in 2025, having contributed more than $563,000 to support charitable partnerships like Boys & Girls Clubs of America and SeriousFun Children’s Network, as well as local nonprofits like the Boys & Girls Club of Lawrence, Greater Lawrence Family Health Center, and Junior Achievement.
With 2024 North American promotional products revenue of $136 million, Gemline ranks 14th on Counselor’s most recent list of the industry’s largest suppliers. Gemline is the largest promotional products company to hold a B Corp certification, which it attained back in October 2024.
