Taking Advantage of the Holiday Season

ASI Media editors taste test seasonal treats and share ideas for distributors.

As the holiday season gets into full swing, ASI Media editors Theresa Hegel and Sara Lavenduski share their favorite traditions, weigh the charms (or lack thereof) of Christmas carols and try out some fun and funky holiday treats. Caesar salad-flavored candy canes, anyone?

In this episode of Promo Insiders, the editors also discuss some ideas for how promotional products distributors can take advantage of the holiday season. Lavenduski, for example, mentioned the excitement and fun of branded Advent calendar, noting that some of her younger relatives received makeup calendars from Sephora for Christmas. Promo companies could follow suit, creating a calendar with a different branded goodie for each day of December.

It’s a project that would take time and coordination to execute, but ultimately be worth the reward, since you have potential to be top of mind all month long. “You have to plan way ahead of time, and you’d also have to make sure that they’re getting their calendars by Dec. 1,” she says. “If they’re getting them by Dec. 2, that’s kind of a faux pas.”
