Gildan Set to Debut ESG-Themed Documentary Series

The global apparel maker, whose goods sell extensively in the promo products market, says the short films focus on steps it takes to care for the environment and worker well-being.

Gildan is set to release a two-part mini-documentary series in support of Gildan Respects, the Montreal-headquartered company’s recently unveiled environmental, social and governance (ESG) campaign.

The vertically integrated global manufacturer of apparel basics, whose clothing sells extensively in the promotional products industry, said it will be releasing the first installment of the series on Sept. 14.

The piece immerses viewers in the life of Dr. Nancy Garcia, a medical doctor for Gildan. Through her eyes, watchers will learn about Gildan’s in-house medical practices at on-site clinics for workers.

This teaser previews the first installment of Gildan’s mini-documentary series. The piece focuses on Gildan’s Dr. Nancy Garcia.

The second installment in the series is due out Sept. 21. It features a behind-the-scenes look at the biomass, which is one of the environmental protection systems that Gildan has developed.

Nello Masciarelli, director of regional energy at Gildan, features in the sustainability-themed second part of Gildan’s mini-documentary, as this teaser shows.

Once released, the documentary videos will be available for viewing at gildancorp.com and on the company’s social media channels, including Facebook and LinkedIn.

Gildan’s ESG initiatives come as companies in the promo products industry and beyond increasingly step up efforts to operate more sustainably and with greater social responsibility. Consumers are increasingly interested in (and influenced by) companies’ ESG impacts, so not only sincerely engaging in such efforts, but also communicating about them is important, proponents say.
