Health Canada Recalls Bike Helmets
Health Canada has issued an official recall for bicycle helmets. Made in China, the helmets can come off in the event of an accident, posing a risk of head injury. So far, Health Canada has received no reports of incidents or injuries.
Over 1,700 of the recalled Lazer Bicycle Helmets were sold by Peterborough, ON-based Shimano Canada Ltd. from January 2015 to April 2018. The recalled helmets come in four models—Blade, Elle, Jade and Magma—all in size Small, and have ID code LZB-08 printed on the inside of the helmet.
“Consumers should immediately stop using the helmet and return the helmet to Shimano North America for a free replacement with free shipping,” said Health Canada in the official recall statement.
Shimano can be contacted at (877) 377-5211 from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. EST Monday to Friday, or at shimano.com.
