Klotter previously served as CEO and board member of supplier TSC Apparel, before it was acquired by S&S Activewear (asi/84358) last November. In his new role, Klotter will guide Boundless through its next phase of growth, which the distributor says will include a focus on enabling the success of current sales partners, recruiting new partners and expansion through strategic acquisitions.

Klotter replaces Charley Dean, who had been serving as interim CEO after the acquisition of Boundless by private equity investors Point Rider Capital and Treaty Oak Equity in 2021. Dean, a managing member at Point Rider Capital, will continue to serve as chairman of the board at Boundless.

“David is an exceptional, growth-oriented leader within the promotional products industry, and we are thrilled he will be leading Boundless’ continued growth in the future, both organically and through acquisitions,” Dean said.

Klotter spent nearly four years at TSC Apparel, leading TSC during a period of operational expansion and revenue growth and staying on for several months after its acquisition by S&S to help with the company integration. Prior to that, he served as a board member and CEO of Marianna Industries, a beauty industry manufacturer. He has also held various executive and sales leadership positions throughout his 25-year career. The Ohio native has an MBA from the University of Cincinnati.

Ben Williams, managing director of Treaty Oak Equity, said Klotter’s expertise with strategic acquisitions and talent development will be “a direct fit with our long-term plans for Boundless,” adding that the company will “benefit from his thoughtful leadership.”

Klotter expressed enthusiasm for his new role. “During my time leading a top promotional products supplier,” he said, “I always admired Boundless as a leading distributor in the industry. Its team, culture and technology are what set it apart, and I’m excited about where we can take Boundless going forward.”

With reported 2020 North American promo product revenue of $84 million, Boundless ranked 24th on Counselor’s most recent list of the largest distributors in the industry. The new Top 40 list will be released this month.
