Wegmans Recalls Stress Balls

New York-based Wegmans, in conjunction with the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC), is recalling approximately 7,000 stress balls.

New York-based Wegmans, in conjunction with the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC), is recalling approximately 7,000 stress balls. The rubber balls can break into pieces when squeezed, posing a choking hazard to young children, the CPSC said. The importer of record, according to the CPSC, is Giftcraft, which has its corporate headquarters in Toronto and U.S. offices in Williamsville and Towanda, NY. The company has not returned phone calls or e-mails from Counselor.

The recalled Gift Gallery Moody Face Stress Balls feature a smiley face with yarn hair and were sold in five colors – blue, green, orange, red and yellow. The items were individually sold in Wegmans grocery store locations in Maryland, Massachusetts, New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania and Virginia for about $1 between October 12 and October 23 of this year. The stress balls measure 2.5 inches in diameter. To date, no injuries have been reported in association with the stress balls.

Consumers should immediately stop using these stress balls and return them to any Wegmans service desk for a full refund.
