Meridian Direct Breaks Ground On New Company Facility
The $25 million print/promo product company is building in Loves Park, IL.
A fast-growing printing and promotional products company with nearly $25 million in 2018 revenue has broken ground on what will be a new 50,000-square foot facility.
Meridian Direct (asi/259660) is building the $6 million headquarters in Loves Park, IL. The location will consolidate four company sites into one – a move that facilitates efficiency, company leaders say.
Expected to be completed by next spring, the facility will feature office, warehouse and manufacturing space. More than 100 employees will work in the new headquarters.
Held Wednesday, the official groundbreaking ceremony drew attention from local media. At the ceremony, Meridian President Bob Chanson and Vice President Bruce Vorel were joined by Loves Park Mayor Greg Jury and Greg Kladar of Ringland-Johnson Construction, which is doing the building.
Meridian’s expansion comes at a time of growth for the company, which generated total sales of $24.8 million in 2018. That tally includes promo sales of $4.6 million – up 43.7% from 2017. Related services that Meridian provides include in-house offset printing, digital printing, signage & display creation, website design and marketing, and more. Chanson and Vorel founded the company more than 40 years ago.
“We are evolving as products evolve,” Chanson told The Rock River Times. “Eighty-one percent of the products we sold 20 years ago do not exist or are a very small segment of our offering. It’s all gone to digital and wide-format printing, as well as branded merchandise and apparel.”
