Best Places to Work: #20 – Image Masters
Find out what makes this distributor a top promo industry workplace.
Company Size: Small (10-25 employees)
Location: Merced, CA
Work Model: Hybrid
Year Founded: 1994
Company Culture: Every month, Image Masters (asi/230071) hosts a free lunch for the team. “It’s a good time for everyone to sit down, break bread and catch up,” says CEO Tim O’Neill. If that image makes you think of family meals, that’s likely an apt description. “The word I hear around the office most is ‘family,’” O’Neill says. It’s a true family business, with O’Neill’s son serving as chief operating officer, but the company also wants its workers to put their own families first. “If something comes up with your family, we as a business have to adapt to that,” O’Neil says. “We understand that the priority is your family. Whatever you can give us beyond that, we’ll take.”
COVID Changes: Because the company offers in-house decoration, Image Masters has been hybrid by necessity. Production workers need to be in the office, but other positions have been able to work from home. “I’m happy to have them work remotely,” O’Neill says. “It absolutely works for us.” To accommodate the hybrid office, Image Masters implemented Microsoft Teams and holds almost all of its meetings through remote videoconferencing, even when people are in the office.
Parting Tip: “One of our goals is always to find the right person for the job,” O’Neill says. “Give them the tools and training, then just get the heck out of the way.”
