COVID Changes: The Book Company adopted a hybrid structure about three years before the onset of COVID. Employees who work in the warehouse and production facility are on-site, and just about everyone else has been working from home, touching base primarily via videoconferencing. “I can’t remember the last time I talked on the phone. We’re always communicating on video,” Greenhut says. “It works really well for us, and we don’t have any plans to change back to the office.”

Parting Tip: “I’ve always believed in overcompensating people,” Greenhut says, “and making the entire company feel they’ve never had a better job than this.”
