Make it two in 2024 for Proforma Printhouse (asi/491465).

The Kalamazoo, MI-based print and promotional products distributor just announced its second acquisition of the year – a deal that sees the company buy fellow Michigan-headquartered firm Proforma Marketplace. Proforma Printhouse has now executed four acquisitions in as many years, executives said.

Financial terms of the latest deal were not released. Both Proforma Printhouse and Proforma Marketplace are affiliates of Counselor Top 40 distributor Proforma (asi/300094) but are independently owned.

Now, former Proforma Marketplace Owner Tony Rubino is joining as a sales rep for Proforma Printhouse, which continues under the ownership of Brad and Michelle Troyer and their son Rielly – ASI Media’s 2024 Distributor Up-and-Comer of the Year.

Proforma team

As part of the acquisition, Tony Rubino is joining Proforma Printhouse (as/491465) as a sales rep.

“We are thrilled to have Tony join us,” said Brad Troyer. “He and his team have earned a strong reputation for client satisfaction, and we look forward to enabling him to carry on his legacy.”

Brad Troyer told ASI Media that the firm expects to clear $4 million in revenue in 2025 and should be on track to exceed $5 million in 2025.

Proforma’s Support Center helped broker the deal between the two affiliates and has assisted in past Proforma Printhouse acquisitions as well.

“Acquisitions like this one are a true testament to Proforma’s vision for growth,” said Derek Boyer, vice president of sales and industry recruiting at Proforma. “Additionally, it speaks volumes about Proforma Printhouse’s commitment to providing innovative and effective solutions for their customers.”

Back in February, the Troyers announced the acquisition of Battle Creek, MI-based Ad-Wise Promotions/Christman Screenprint, a company with a 107-year history. At the time, Brad Troyer said the deal would help empower his distributorship to further strengthen its position as a one-stop shop for print and promo product solutions. That’s something the acquisition of Proforma Marketplace builds on.

“We look forward to a strong, growth-filled future,” said Brad Troyer.

Founded in 2009, Proforma Printhouse provides a suite of marketing solutions, including print, promo, branded apparel and digital/creative services. The firm has appeared on the Inc. 5000 list of fastest-growing private companies.

Based on reported 2023 North American promotional product revenue of $638 million, Proforma ranked fifth on Counselor’s most recent list of the largest distributors in the industry.

It’s been a busy year for mergers and acquisitions in the promotional products industry.

Notable deals include promo’s second-largest supplier, Counselor Top 40 firm S&S Activewear (asi/84358), buying the industry’s third-largest supplier, alphabroder (asi/34063). Other deals involving one Counselor Top 40 company acquiring another this year include iPROMOTEu (asi/232119) purchasing AIA Corporation (asi/109480) and Boundless (asi/143717) buying Touchstone (asi/345631).
