Bay State Specialty Co (asi/38980) has a new president.

The Lakeville, MA-based supplier has named Eric Cardoza to succeed Michael Moore in the top role at the family business. The transition is part of a long-term succession plan, the company said. Michael Moore, who owns the company alongside former company president Joel Moore, will stay on in an advisory role.

Cardoza joined Bay State seven years ago and most recently served as vice president of operations, where he guided the company through COVID-19-related disruption and ongoing global supply chain challenges.

“Over seven years ago, we brought Eric onboard, and it was immediately clear he was smart, knowledgeable, skilled and hardworking,” said Joel and Michael Moore in a joint statement. “He proved a tremendous asset navigating COVID-19’s ups and downs and the supply chain issues that followed. Eric quickly rose to vice president of operations, proving his ability to run a company. We’re thrilled to have him at the helm of Bay State and excited for his continued success.”

In his new role, Cardoza will lead company strategy and operations. He’ll also be tasked with supporting distributor partners and driving continued growth at the firm.
