Grossman Marketing Group (asi/215205) has brought another company into its fold.
The Woburn, MA-based distributor announced the acquisition of Cooley Group (asi/168125), a Rochester-based provider of promotional products, print and fulfillment dating back more than 75 years.
After its start in the print industry, specifically focusing on business forms, Cooley Group expanded its list of products and services over time to include promotional products, apparel, signs and specialty printing, and its staff now includes a range of customer-facing support and brand consultants. End-buyer customers range from healthcare and higher education to manufacturing, food and beverage, and others.
“We’re thrilled to welcome Cooley Group to the Grossman family,” Grossman Marketing Group Co-President David Grossman said in a statement. “Both companies share the belief that the greatest asset we have is the people who walk through our doors every day. This shared commitment to our teams, our clients, our communities and sustainability is exactly why this partnership makes sense.”

As part of the acquisition, Cooley Group will retain its name as a division of Grossman Marketing Group, and all of its existing offices will remain open.
"Clients will continue working with the same team they know, now with access to more tools, expanded services and deeper resources," Grossman Marketing Group Co-President Ben Grossman, a member of the Counselor Power 50 list of the industry’s most influential people and the 2022 Bess Cohn Humanitarian of the Year, told ASI Media.
Phil Yawman, president of Cooley Group, added that the decision to join Grossman would allow Cooley Group customers to access greater capabilities and services, such as SwagCycle, Grossman’s sustainability platform for the promotional products industry that has diverted more than 3 million items from landfills since 2019.
“To keep growing amid changing client needs, we knew we needed access to more resources like Grossman’s award-winning technology, robust e-commerce capabilities, global logistics infrastructure and proven sustainability leadership,” Yawman said. “Joining forces with Grossman ensures our people, culture and clients remain at the center of everything we do.”

Grossman Marketing Group has made strategic acquisitions part of its growth strategy. In 2023, the company acquired Links Marketing Group, which catered primarily to the golf industry. Before that, Grossman acquired firms such as PCI Creative, Advantages in Marketing, Symbol Marketing & Promotions, and others.
“Over the last decade, Grossman Marketing Group has grown through select, strategic acquisitions where there is strong cultural alignment, complementary capabilities and the chance to expand our strength as a trusted partner,” said Ben Grossman. “Together with Cooley, we’re expanding what’s possible for our clients while protecting the culture and community focus that make both companies strong.”
Ben Grossman also told ASI Media that acquisitions play a role in Grossman Marketing's growth strategy "when there is a deep cultural alignment and a shared commitment to client services."
Financial details of the acquisition were not disclosed at the time of publication.
