“It’s truly inspiring to witness Orbus’s evolution toward greater eco-consciousness,” said Natalie Whited, vice president of marketing. “We’re proud of the progress we’ve made, but even more excited to continually implement more green practices in years to come.”

Orbus has built and maintained a recycling program that separates recycled waste into categories, such as cardboard, paper, aluminum, fabric, steel, wood and other materials. The company said it recycled 10% of its fabric and has campaigns in place to further minimize waste and reprints. This year, Orbus said it’s working with a new wood recycler, Jimenez Pallets Inc., which turns wood waste into new pallets, or into mulch if the waste wood isn’t salvageable.

Other eco-friendly initiatives at Orbus include 100% motion-sensor LED lighting at its headquarters, water dispensers throughout the facility, automatic water fixtures, and a product rental program to limit waste. The supplier also works to engineer and design is products with longevity in mind.

Orbus has been ISO 14001:2015 certified since 2010. This internationally recognized standard outlines requirements for an environmental management system that minimizes a company’s impact by reducing waste and using resources more efficiently.

Orbus ranked 46th on Counselor’s most recent list of the Best Places to Work in the promotional products industry. Employees said the words that best describe the firm are “creative,” “collaborative” and “inclusive.”
