WWE, Flyers Sell Limited-Edition Gritty T-Shirt
World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE) doesn’t have a mascot, but if it did, chances are Vince McMahon would bash the Philadelphia Flyers with a steel chair and abduct Gritty.
As for now, though, WWE and the Flyers make a great tag team, as evidenced by the limited-edition “Road to WrestleMania” T-shirt featuring the beloved orange monster. The shirt depicts the Flyers mascot on the ropes, pointing at the WrestleMania logo, which is what wrestlers do to show that they want to compete at the company’s biggest event of the year.

The wrestling world buzzed about the T-shirts on Monday, when the Wells Fargo Center hosted WWE Raw. Exclusively sold at the arena, the shirts were available for $35, the typical price for WWE branded T-shirts. WWE Superstar Elias even referenced Gritty in his musical act, roasting the pop culture fixture as well as the rest of the City of Brotherly Love.
For wrestling fans who didn’t attend the event but are still interested in purchasing the shirts, don’t worry. As of Tuesday morning, a couple of the T-shirts were available on eBay for $149.95…nearly the price of a nosebleed seat at WrestleMania 35 inside MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, New Jersey.
