In Memoriam: James Terrence “Terry” Mulligan
James Terrence “Terry” Mulligan, former owner of Mulligan Marketing and a member of Promotional Products Professionals of Canada (PPPC) for more than 40 years, passed away on May 29. He was 81.
Born in 1936 in Niagara Falls, he graduated from trade school as an electrician in 1954 and went on to earn his B. Comm from Assumption University in Windsor, ON, in 1959. He owned promotional products firm Mulligan Marketing for more than 30 years.
He enjoyed traveling to Boston to watch the Celtics, to the University of Notre Dame to watch football, and trips to Las Vegas. He was a retired member of the Dixie Lions Club, and had just begun his retirement.
He operated at "the highest level of ethics," says Leslie Ashby of Strategic Sales Team Inc. (asi/829687) in Burlington, ON.
Terry was predeceased by his parents, Ann and Patrick Mulligan, as well as all of his siblings: Betty Chalmers, Ed, Pat, Tom and Marji Mulligan. He is survived by Mary (née Brett), his wife of 28 years, and was the father of Jeff (1962-1975) and Lisa (Stephen Meyer) and step-father to Derek Woolverton (Sara Moffat) and Kim Woolverton (Alex Versluis). He is also survived by grandchildren Jack and Frances (Frankie) Meyer and step-grandfather to Anabelle and Abbey Woolverton and Jeffrey and Matthew Versluis.
A Celebration of Friendship in memory of Terry is today, Monday June 4, from 1:00 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. at The Old Mill in Etobicoke, Toronto. Donations can be made in his name to The SickKids Foundation, 525 University Avenue, Suite 835, Toronto, ON, Canada M5G 2L3.
