Charles River Gains Additional Facility Space

The Top 40 supplier says the extra square footage will help support sales growth and charitable efforts.

Charles River Apparel (asi/44620) announced Monday that it has secured a long-term lease for additional facility space – a development the Top 40 promotional products supplier says will help support business growth.

Located in Sharon, MA next to Charles River’s corporate headquarters, the facility will provide warehouse, office and showroom space. The location, which company executives said helps create a campus-style setting in conjunction with the existing headquarters, will also serve as a center for charitable fundraising pop-up events related to “Charles River Cares” – the firm’s philanthropic division.

“We are excited to add this new space to help support our current and future growth,” said CEO Barry Lipsett. “This will give us the flexibility to further expand our distribution center and office needs, as well as support our charitable efforts.”

Lipsett noted that the first pop-up charitable event will be held on Giving Tuesday, Dec. 3. The event, details for which are to come, will support “Christmas in the City,” a nonprofit organization that hosts an annual Christmas party for thousands of homeless families and children at the Boston Convention Center.

With reported 2018 North American promotional product revenue of $47 million, Charles River Apparel ranks 37th on Counselor’s latest list of the largest suppliers in the industry. The company’s five-year average annual growth rate is 7%.
