Target Print & Mail Acquires Bowman Promotional Specialties

The deal involves two Florida-based industry firms.

Tracey Cohen calls it the “missing puzzle piece.”

The owner/president of Target Print & Mail (asi/379133) was referring to the Tallahassee, FL-based firm’s ability to provide the same depth of service and expertise on promotional products solutions that it has long done in other channels, including printing services, signs/banners, direct mail and graphic design.

Now, Target Print & Mail has added that missing piece to the puzzle, acquiring Tallahassee-based promo distributor Bowman Promotional Specialties. Financial terms of the deal between the privately held companies were not released.

“We’re excited to now provide our customers with more expertise and the support they’ve come to expect from our team for print, mailing and signage projects – but now for their promotional products as well,” Cohen said in a statement.

To help fuel those efforts, Target Print & Mail has hired Cheyenne Woody as a promo product account executive. The company said Woody will draw on her background in branding and marketing initiatives for clients in various industries to help Target Print & Mail’s customers find ideal merch solutions that help them meet their goals.

Cohen’s mother Mayda Williams founded Target Print & Mail in 1982, originally as Target Copy. “Over the course of 27 years, she grew the business into a large commercial printer company that served clients across the region,” a company biography said.

In 2004, after working in communications and market research in Atlanta for a time, Cohen joined the family company she grew up in. Then, in 2009, Cohen purchased the business, marking the second generation of in-the-family woman ownership.

Today, Target Print & Mail has 20 team members and operates out of a 9,100-square-foot production center.

“While our business may look different than it did in 1982, what made – and makes – Target Print & Mail special has never changed,” the company biography stated. “We are committed to supporting our community, providing excellent service, and always going above and beyond to exceed our clients’ expectations.”
