The Bright Side: Cooley Group Donates $10,000 on Giving Tuesday
The distributorship’s donations will benefit a range of nonprofits in New York state.
Cooley Group (asi/168125) cares about its community.
That’s why the 75-year-old Rochester-area distributor donated $10,000 worth of promotional products to nonprofits across New York state for Giving Tuesday.
“Cooley Group is proud to support these organizations, which work tirelessly to create a positive impact in our communities,” said Phil Yawman, Cooley Group president. “We’ve had our Cooley Cares program in place for many years, and I truly believe that the power of giving benefits us as much as the organizations we support.”
This year’s donations benefited a range of charitable organizations, including:
- Loretto Foundation, a comprehensive continuing healthcare organization dedicated to transforming eldercare in central New York, focusing on person-first, affordable care.
- Mercy Flight Central, an independent nonprofit composed of air medical professionals providing critical care to the sick and injured.
- Volunteers of America, a nonprofit that empowers people in the community to rise out of poverty, move toward self-reliance and reach their full potential.
- Integrated Community Alternatives Network, a nonprofit that strives to empower children, families and individuals who have high-service needs, enabling them to live in ways that are productive and healthy, while keeping families together.
- The Bernard & Millie Duker Children’s Hospital at Albany Medical Center, the region’s only children’s hospital.
- Alzheimer’s Association, a nonprofit that leads the charge in Alzheimer’s care, support, research and advocacy.
- David’s Refuge, which provides respite, resources and support to parents and guardians of children with special needs or life-threatening medical conditions.
- Person Centered Housing Options, an organization committed to addressing, preventing and alleviating chronic homelessness in Monroe County, NY, and surrounding communities through the housing-first model.
- House of the Good Shepherd, a leading provider of treatment, education and support services to children and families.
- Camp Good Days, an organization that strives to improve quality of life for families affected by cancer or sickle cell anemia through residential camping programs and year-round recreational and support activities.
The Cooley Cares program demonstrates the distributor’s commitment to serve and enrich the communities in which it operates, according to the company. In addition to charitable donations, the program also gives employees paid time off to volunteer their time and talent to the community. Cooley Group has offices in Rochester, Syracuse, Albany, Utica and the Hudson Valley area of New York.
Giving Tuesday, a concept created in 2012, occurs the Tuesday after Thanksgiving, encouraging businesses and individuals to flex their generosity and make charitable donations – after the shopping holidays of Black Friday, Small Business Saturday and Cyber Monday.
