4imprint: ‘We’ll Reach About $1.1 Billion in Revenue This Year’
In a just-issued trading update, the Top 40 promo products distributorship also said before-tax profit will surpass $90 million.
4imprint (asi/197045), the second-largest distributorship in the North American promotional products industry, says its 2022 annual global revenue will be around $1.1 billion and that before-tax profit will surpass $90 million.
That’s according to a financial performance update issued on Friday, Nov. 4. by the publicly traded London, UK-headquartered firm, whose main operations are based in Oshkosh, WI.
For years, 4imprint has stated its goal of reaching $1 billion in total sales. In an August report on half-year results, the firm said it was on track to hit that target. The strong business momentum that propelled such a view has continued, according to executives.
Through October, order counts in North America – where 4imprint generates the vast majority of its business – were up 32% compared to 2021 and 18% compared to 2019, the last pre-pandemic year. Over the same period, average order values rose 6% relative to 2021 and 14% against 2019.
“Both new customer acquisition rates and existing customer retention statistics have remained at or above our expectations,” the company said in a statement.
4imprint noted that it has a cash balance of $79 million after paying an interim dividend of $10.6 million in September.
“With consistent productivity from our marketing activities, relative stability in gross margins and operational leverage over the fixed and semi-fixed elements of the cost base, we now expect 2022 profit before tax to be toward the top end of the current range of analysts’ forecasts, and not less than $90 million,” the company said.
The trading update was not a full financial report. Specifics on how much revenue 4imprint has so far created from North American promo sales in particular wasn’t available.
Still, for some perspective, it’s known that from January 1, 2022, through July 2, 2022, 4imprint’s North American sales were $505.86 million, a year-over year leap of 57%, according to the half-year report.
The company sells internationally in the United Kingdom and Ireland, where it generated nearly $10 million during the same six-month frame, for total global revenue of $515.54 million for the half-year.
4imprint operates on a direct-to-buyer e-commerce model. The company’s advertising campaigns, including television commercials, have been highly visible in the United States in 2022.
With reported 2021 North American promotional product revenue of $773.7 million, 4imprint ranked second on Counselor’s most recent list of the largest distributors in the industry.
