Leed’s Teams Up With Eco-Friendly Bag Maker
The promo supplier is beginning to sell select bags from Canada-based Parkland this month.
Leed’s (asi/66887), a subsidiary of Top 40 supplier Polyconcept North America (PCNA), is enhancing its eco-styled offerings to the promo industry through a just-announced partnership with Parkland, a Vancouver, BC-based company that makes bags from fabrics developed with recycled plastic bottles.
On Monday, Leed’s announced that, starting in November 2018, it will carry a selection of products from Parkland, which makes totes, backpacks, duffels and related accessories like fanny packs, pouches, tablet sleeves and more. Styles Leed’s will offer include the Vintage 13” Computer Backpack, Westport 15” Computer Backpack and Kingston Plus 15” Computer Backpack. Leed’s will provide multi-color decoration on the products and next-day turnaround on orders through its SureShip service.
“Parkland bags are truly one of a kind,” said Andrew Dickson, global category director at PCNA. “There’s a strong demand for sustainable products (in the promo) industry. This partnership will allow us to continue to provide our distributors with the innovative and socially responsible brands their customers are looking for.”
Parkland is excited to expand its market reach with the help of Leed’s. “It takes up to 1,000 years for a plastic bottle to break down in a landfill,” said Sean Miller, sales and business development manager for Parkland. “We are committed to reducing the impact of this worldwide problem and are pleased to partner with a company like Leed’s, who understands the need for these types of products, to get our bags into the promotional products channel.”
Established in 2015, Parkland says the exterior of all of its products are made from 100% recycled water bottles. The company’s bags and accessories are sold in 15 countries.
With reported 2017 North American promotional product revenue of $606.3 million, PCNA ranks third on Counselor’s most recent list of the largest suppliers in the industry.
