Germany-based elasto GmbH & Co. KG (asi/51817), one of Europe’s biggest promotional products suppliers, has opened a new logistics and production center.

The facility, located in the Sulzbach-Rosenberg municipality in the southern German region of Bavaria, features an expanded production area that executives believe will help support the company’s growth. Elasto leaders said the facility totals 5,500 square meters – nearly 60,000 square feet.

“We are very proud that after a construction period of only 17 months and an investment volume of more than 15 million euros, we can now open the new logistics and production center,” said Marcus Sperber, co-CEO/managing director of elasto GmbH. He added that the facility helps secure a strong domestic production presence for the firm.

During the first week of May, the supplier hosted a special ceremony to mark the opening of the production center. About 450 people attended, including customers, employees, business leaders and politicians, such as Sulzbach-Rosenberg Mayor Michael Göth and members of the Bundestag, Germany’s parliament.  

Elasto GmbH treated guests to tours of the facility and served up an array of regional dishes and drinks. Entertainment included musical act Aeroplane.

Elasto noted: “As a housewarming gift, the guests collected money for an ‘inauguration tree’ to symbolically hand it over to the management. The tree is now to be planted on the elasto company site and given a place of honor.”
