Top 40 distributor Bensussen Deutsch & Associates (BDA; asi/137616), in conjunction with the Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC), has announced a recall on branded menorahs that were given away at a Golden State Warriors game as part of a recent “Jewish Heritage Night.”

The glue that holds the menorahs’ candleholders can melt, causing both the candleholders and lit candles to fall -- and thereby posing fire and burn hazards, officials said. No injuries have been reported, but there has been at least one incident of the melting glue leading to a candleholder falling off, according to the CPSC.

“Consumers should immediately stop using the recalled menorahs and dispose of them,” the CPSC said in a statement.

According to a recall notice, Mingfeng Crafts Co. of China manufactured the menorahs, about 1,800 of which were provided to fans attending the Warriors’ game on Dec. 14, 2017. BDA imported and distributed the menorahs, which had “Golden State Warriors,” “Jewish Heritage Night” and two Stars of David printed on the front. Additionally, the CPSC stated that the polyresin menorahs have gold-colored aluminum candleholders on top of decorative basketballs. The center candleholder also features a decorative basketball hoop underneath the ball. The candles resemble basketballs.
