Gold Bond Introduces ‘Green Gallery’ Product Line
Every order received through the new line will allow the supplier to donate one to 10 trees through a partnership with One Tree Planted.
Hixson, TN-based Gold Bond (asi/57653) is going green. The supplier’s new Green Gallery line of sustainable products also supports reforestation efforts in urban areas.
The company has partnered with reforestation nonprofit One Tree Planted to help bring trees back to cities. Gold Bond notes on its website that trees aren’t distributed equally and that communities of color and low-income areas are disproportionately affected by climate change. The goal, it adds, is to make a meaningful impact on our planet by reducing dangerous urban heat islands, providing green spaces for communities in need and enhancing air quality.
The One Tree Planted urban reforestation fund Gold Bond is contributing to will provide for 27 planting projects across 24 American cities, supporting the health and livelihood of millions.
“We are proud to support One Tree Planted’s remarkable reforestation efforts through our Green Gallery line,” said Britney Godsey, chief revenue officer at Gold Bond. “We encourage our distributor clients and their customers to join us in supporting this worthy cause.”
For each order from the Green Gallery line, Gold Bond will have anywhere from one to 10 trees planted through One Tree Planted. Products in the line include tote bags, reusable straws, cork pens, bamboo coasters and other environmentally friendly items.
Gold Bond says the tree-planting giveback program supports its commitment to the 15th Sustainable Development Goal developed by the UN: Life on Land. Another sustainability goal Gold Bond is working toward is switching its entire building to LED lighting by August 2023. The supplier also says it has reduced the waste it generates by 87% since 2017.
Tree-planting and other nature-focused givebacks have been growing in popularity in the promotional products industry. Last month, Vancouver-based B Corp Fairware (asi/191452) announced a partnership with veritree to plant 10 kelp along the Pacific coast of British Columbia for every order it invoices. In April, ETS Express (asi/51197), an independent subsidiary of Top 40 supplier PCNA (asi/78897) launched a giveback initiative to plant 250,000 trees in Tanzania and British Columbia over the next few years through veritree. And in January, Social Imprints (asi/164607) announced a pledge to plant 40,000 mangrove trees in Mombasa, Kenya in 2023.
ASI Media’s recently launched Do-Gooders Directory includes a list of giveback programs, corporate social responsibility initiatives and sustainability certifications that suppliers and distributors offer.
