Federal statistics indicate there are more 190,000 employers in Minnesota.

American Solutions for Business (ASB, asi/120075) is among the best of them.

That’s according to the Star Tribune, which named Glenwood, MN-headquartered ASB among its Top Workplaces in the North Star State. The Counselor Top 40 distributor has made the list before, but this year the firm placed fourth among the Top 10 largest companies – its highest ever ranking.

The Star Tribune creates its list based on anonymous surveys of employees at companies. Businesses are divided into categories by size – small, medium and large. In total, only 200 Minnesota companies earn a place among the rankings.

“Nurturing relationships, encouraging education, giving back to our communities and caring for our stakeholders allows us to create an environment that inspires change, growth and success for all,” ASB told the Star Tribune.

Founded in 1981, American Solutions for Business ranks eighth on Counselor’s most recent list of the largest promotional products distributors in the industry based on reported 2021 North American promo revenue of $244.3 million. The new rankings, based on 2022 performance, are due out in July.

The majority of home office and sales associates at ASB are employee-owners. As such, they hold private stock in the company. Thanks to a strong 2022, ASB’s stock share value increased 37% last year, the firm has said previously.
