Keen to power greater worldwide expansion, promo products supplier Goldstar (asi/73295) has appointed Robert “RJ” Hagel as director of global marketing.

Based in California, Hagel has been with Goldstar for eight years, most recently serving as senior marketing manager for Europe and North America. Going forward, he’s now responsible for all global marketing activities and teams within the San Diego-headquartered supplier firm.

Howard Cubberly, Goldstar’s global general manager, said the company has been working hard to strengthen its position as a worldwide supplier that offers top-notch service to distributors. Hagel’s appointment helps advance that mission, Cubberly said.

“RJ has been an innovative and creative force within Goldstar for many years and has been instrumental in evolving our brand and advertising campaigns to optimize promotion of our core value proposition of simplicity – all-inclusive pricing with emphasis on full-color decoration in writing instruments, drinkware and bags,” Cubberly said. “I am excited to work with RJ and our marketing teams to elevate the experience, service and product range we offer to specialty advertising distributors across Europe and North America.”

Prior to joining Goldstar, Hagel was a marketing manager and proposal specialist with ARCADIS, an international company that provides consultancy, design, engineering and management services in the fields of infrastructure, water, environment and buildings. Before that, Hagel held roles that included marketing manager of client services with Fontis Solutions, a business and marketing communications company.

Hagel, who appeared on Counselor magazine’s 2019 Hot List of industry up-and-comers, is excited about the next chapter of his career with Goldstar.

“As we continue to evolve, I see a very bright future for Goldstar and the opportunities that lie ahead to becoming a more significant supplier brand across all of North America and Europe,” Hagel said.
