Obituary: Kenneth Mayer, ProCrest Apparel & Promotions
Kenneth Mayer, a longtime member of the promotional products industry in Canada and Promotional Products Professionals of Canada, passed away on July 11 after a battle with progressive supranuclear palsy (PSP). He was 66.
A graduate of Campion High School, he received a degree in biology from the University of Regina before joining his father’s promotional products business. Brother Terry later joined the team and worked closely with Mayer at the company, which came to be known as ProCrest Apparel & Promotions in Regina, SK, for almost 30 years. Mayer retired in 2019.
Mayer was a pilot, scuba diver, skier, snowboarder, waterskier, photographer, potter, fisherman and golfer. He was also a Cub Leader with the Boy Scouts, and owned a home in Bucerias, Mexico, for more than 15 years. He enjoyed swimming at Last Mountain Lake in Saskatchewan and the Bay of Banderas in Mexico.
Mayer is survived by his wife, Donna; children Rylan, Renn and Jenna; siblings Gordon (Wendy), Roberta and Terry (Tracey); extended family Amie, Stephanie and Denise; and grandchildren Luckus, Jacob, Ryder and Julia, as well as nieces and nephews.
Due to COVID-19 restrictions, the family will hold a private gathering for the time being and will announce a celebration of life at a later date.
